A square 10-acre tract is about 660 feet on a side. A trail camera reliably detects a deer out to perhaps 40 to 80 feet, so no number of cameras "covers" the acreage; they sample the places animals pass. Add one camera for each food plot or field. For security, count gates, drives and buildings instead of acres.
On a tract this size a single well-placed camera may see most of the deer that use it, so resist the urge to blanket it: every visit to check a camera leaves scent on a small property.

Is one trail camera enough for 10 acres?
Often, yes. At 10 acres one camera on the best food source or crossing can inventory most of the deer using the property, and a second on a travel route adds direction and timing. Survey standards use about one camera per 100 acres.
Should trail cameras be spread evenly across a property?
No. Put cameras where movement concentrates: food plots, water, creek crossings, fence gaps, field corners and saddles between ridges. An evenly spaced grid wastes cameras on places animals rarely pass. The exception is a formal camera survey, which spaces sites roughly evenly to avoid counting the same deer twice.
